Are the classes at Pillar suitable for beginners?
Pillar offers a variety of classes, catering to different abilities. Our instructors ensure each client is working at an appropriate level for their ability, however please read the class description section to determine which class is most suitable for you.
For your first session, please arrive 10 minutes early so your instructor can meet you and demonstrate how the reformer works to ensure you are comfortable. The instructor can also position you on a reformer with people either side so you will have someone to follow, no matter what direction you are facing.
Alternatively you can book an initial 1:1 introductory class where our chiropractor, Dr Amy Lauren, will assess your body, discuss your goals and ensure you are comfortable and confident using the reformer, please call or email to book.
Are the classes open to all ages?
Clients must be 16 years of age to attend reformer classes and there is no upper age limit. We do offer a Stretch + Strengthen class that is designed for those who are feeling the effects of ageing.
Are pregnant women welcome to attend class?
Pregnant clients are able to attend regular classes at Pillar provided they have not been advised to stop exercise by their health practitioner. Please see the pre-natal section for further information.
When can I come back to Pilates after having a baby?
Once clients have been cleared to return to exercise by their health practitioner they are able to return to Pilates.
We run post natal Pilates classes which babies are able to attend. Please see the post-natal section for further information.
What is the class size?
Our class sizes are smaller than many studios in Perth, capped at 7 clients. This ensures each client receives individualized attention from the instructor so you get maximum benefit from each class.
What do I need to wear?
We recommend comfortable, relatively tight fitting clothing such as leggings and a singlet or t-shirt. This will allow your body to move freely whilst also ensuring your clothing does not get caught in the reformer. Tighter clothing also allows the instructor to pick up subtle corrections to your form to ensure you are getting the most out of each exercise.
We require all clients to wear grip socks for hygiene and safety purposes. Socks are available for purchase in the studio for $15.
What do I need to bring to class?
Grip socks (which can be purchased in the studio for $15) and a water bottle. A sweat towel is optional, as all reformers are cleaned and disinfected after each client.
Is there parking available on site?
Limited parking is available at the rear of the building with access via the rear laneway. Ample free parking is available on Nicholson Road and the surrounding streets.
Are there change rooms and showers available?
Unfortunately we do not provide showers. Should you need to get changed, there is an onsite bathroom for you to use.
How much are classes?
We have a variety of packages and memberships available, see pricing for our Pilates classes.

Can I claim classes on my private health?
Unfortunately group classes cannot be claimed on private health.
If I cannot attend a class, is there a cancellation fee?
We understand that unavoidable circumstances do arise which mean you cannot attend your chosen class. However to provide waitlisted clients with enough notice to attend their desired class, we kindly request you cancel your class 9 hours prior.
No fee applies for cancellations made more than 9 hours prior prior to the start of the reserved class.
Cancellations made within 9 hours of the class start time will incur a $15 late cancellation fee.
Should you fail to attend the class, that class will be forfeited.
