pre-natal Pilates

Reformer Pilates is the perfect form of exercise to undertake when pregnant. The benefits of regular Pilates during pregnancy are well recognised.

All Pilates instructors at Pillar are trained in pregnancy Pilates and we have obstetricians around Perth referring women to Pillar Pilates.


Can I attend normal classes?

Provided your obstetrician/GP/midwife has not advised against exercise, we welcome pregnant clients to attend all of our regular classes.

We just ask that you inform us of your pregnancy via email or verbally before your first class.


Can I attend Pilates at Pillar throughout my entire pregnancy?

Yes! The pregnancy guidelines for exercise recommend exercise modifications be made from 16 weeks gestation. All instructors at Pillar are trained in pregnancy Pilates so the appropriate modifications for each exercise can be made with ease.

With class sizes capped at 7 clients, our instructors will ensure you are obtaining the full benefit of Pilates whilst feeling safe and comfortable. This has enabled women attend classes right up until the day they give birth!

 

Post- Natal Pilates

We run weekly post natal friendly classes which are designed to help you ease back into exercise. There is a strong focus on regaining strength in muscle groups that are compromised through pregnancy, birth and holding/ feeding your baby.

Clients are required to be cleared to return to exercise by their obstetrician/midwife/GP before attending these classes.

Babies under 1 year of age are welcome to join you at the studio as we have staff members on hand to help look after your baby so you can concentrate on your Pilates class.
